Environmental Policy

We care about the environment and our target is to reduce our carbon footprint through the following practices.

• Using vegetable based inks in the litho printing process.
• All metal plates are recycled.
• Unless requested by our clients, we use PDF proofs instead of hard copy proofs, which reduces the chemicals (solvent based) inks necessary for large format proofs.
• Use of our digital press wherever possible to minimise paper wastage (more paper is used making ready on the traditional lithographic printing process).
• We have waste paper collections on a weekly basis, the majority of this paper is then recycled to be used again.
• By keeping 99% of our finishing processes in house, we reduce the need for transport to and from 3rd party suppliers, thus reducing our carbon footprint.
• Most of our printing is done on part or fully recycled material.
• Any waste chemicals produced in our factory are stored and collected by “Wastecare” who are registered to dispose of this waste in a suitable manner.
• With the help of Scottish Power our electricity supplier, we have undertaken a company wide push to reduce the amount of electricity used both in the factory and our offices, this is as simple as turning off any non essential equipment when not in use.
• Weather permitting, at least two members of staff travel to work on our new company “Wisper Electric 905 City Se Bikes”, bought using the Governments Cycle to Work Scheme. These bikes have a range of 68 miles (assisted mode) from one 3 hour charge.
