Popi provide free paper for local school

As you can imagine, being printers we are surrounded by paper. From time to time we end up with surplus stock which either gets used to make ready to print on or sits on the shelf for months and months. Well, now we have found a home for it. Woody’s fiancé Corina is a teacher at Woodlands Infant School in Tonbridge, we have come to an agreement whereby she picks up the Die’s for our Diecutting Machine and we repay the kindness in paper. “The children love having big sheets of paper to draw or paint on and it comes in handy for all the craft projects and wall displays we do, paper is expensive and is a huge drain on our school budget so it is fantastic to be able to mutually help each other out in this way”.

Popi sponsor local netball side

Popi are proud sponsors of a local netball team. Previously called Ibex Invaders they will be renamed Popi Pixies after a unanimous decision from the girls and we have high expectations of them over the coming season. Team captain (and incidentally Woody’s fiancé Corina) said “We are proud to be sponsored by Popi, they provided our team dresses and hoodies and think it’s great that local businesses are supportive of sport in the area”.

Alfie

It is with great sadness that Thom’s miniature Daschund, Alfie has been laid to rest after a prolonged period of ill health. Alfie was a great companion, a willing photography model and constant source of inspiration for Thom and provided many an amusing story around the office hearing what mischievous things he’d been up to. He’s gone but not forgotten and is no doubt running around chasing sticks and cars in doggie heaven.

Daves new addition

We’d like to welcome into the world our Finishing Manager David Pilcher’s daughter Connie Jeanne, who was born at 3:20pm on 17th March. David is enjoying some paternity time and will be back to work in 2 weeks time. We look forward to meeting the little lady and would like to congratulate David and Stacey on their new addition. Connie is their second child and her arrival has made a big brother of their son, Elliot.

Popi carve their way through the Mountains

4 members of the popi staff enjoyed another ski break this year when they jaunted off to Chamonix in France for a weekend of skiing. Just back today from their trip, Ian, Sam, Paul and Woody took off for a long weekend on Thursday with Skiweekends.com. Travelling overnight to France arriving to the snow covered mountains early Friday morning gave them time to enjoy three whole days skiing before travelling home on Sunday night ready for work on Monday. Woody said “Whilst a tiring experience cramming in so much in so little time, it is a lot of fun and such a good team building exercise to go out socially and spend time together”. This is the second time they have gone, having previously visited Meribel in the French Alps the year before and Popi now plan to make ski trips a regular event every year.
